Gift Guide For Girls Who Love To Travel (On Wheels)

United States

Here are products that I genuinely love and make my life better as someone who loves to travel on wheels!

Here is the link to my Amazon storefront– some of these products I’ll earn a small commission for (at no extra cost to you!)

Note: Prices are accurate as of 11/29/24 (Black Friday), many products are currently on sale!! Items on Amazon are linked through my Amazon Storefront, where I will earn a commission at no extra cost to you!

My travel essentials

  • Lululemon belt bag
    • $38 (lululemon.com)
    • I love this when traveling because it allows me to keep my most important things secure and easy to reach. As a wheelchair user I struggle using most bags and purses, but this one is so easy to use!
    • I have the black one, but there are many colors available. There are dupes available, but my amazon dupe was low quality. My lululemon one has traveled with me around the world and it is much higher quality!
  • AirFly
    • $34.99 (Amazon)
    • This is so helpful for international flights! On these flights the headphones they give you are not very good, and I much prefer using my AirPods. The AirFly plugs into the headphone jack on your seat and connects to bluetooth so you can use your bluetooth headphones.
  • AirPods
    • $119 (Amazon) – on sale, $10 off!
    • I use my airpods all the time, whether I’m traveling or not! When traveling I use them the most on planes, but I also like using at least one if I’m navigating a new city by myself so that I can have hands free directions and keep my phone in a secure place to avoid pickpockets.
  • Portable charger & USB-C to lightning cable
    • Charger $15 (Amazon) – 50% off!!
    • USB-C to Lightning Cable $15.99 (Amazon) – on sale
    • I never want my phone to die when I’m out and about, so I always travel with at least one (usually 2) fully charged portable chargers just in case! I love this one from Belkin because it’s thin, and has multiple charging ports, including a USB-C port. I love how quickly the USB-C cord charges my phone- it is a noticeable improvement over the standard USB port!
  • Air Tag & sturdy case
    • Airtag $24 (Amazon) – on sale, $5 off! / $72.99 (4 pack, Amazon) – on sale, $26 off!
    • Belkin case $14.99 (2 pack, Amazon) – on sale, 25% off
    • I keep an Air Tag attached to my chair so that my chair ever gets lost while traveling, this might help me find it. It has to be within about 30 ft of an iPhone to register, so it’s not perfect, but in my opinion it is better than not having anything!
  • Packing Cubes
    • $14.99 (Target, 4 piece, light purple) – on sale, 50% off
    • $24.99 (Target, 7 piece light blue) – on sale, 50% off!
    • I have to bring medical things with me in my suitcase and am not a light packer to begin with, so I need anything that will save me as much room in my suitcase as I can! These help me stay organized and less stressed, which is so helpful when I have other logistical things to be thinking about when traveling.
  • Wet Ones
    • $1.99 (Target, 1 pack of 20 wipes)
    • $19.90 (Amazon, 10 packs with 20 wipes each) – on sale
    • My hands get so dirty when pushing around a city or traveling! I always carry hand wipes on me to clean my hands or other things I have to touch. I have found Wet Ones to be the very best, specifically ones from the US! In Ireland they had Wet Ones, but they were not as wet and the packaging wasn’t good at staying closed so they would dry out. Especially if you’re a wheelchair user, I definitely recommend bringing some with you (one time I had to buy some in NYC and they were much more expensive than they would’ve been if I had brought them with me).
  • Away carry on
    • $206 (Away.com) – on sale, 25% off!
    • I recommend a suitcase that has wheels that roll in all directions. For me, it is a lot easier to push than ones where you have to pull it behind you at an angle! I have used my Away carry on since high school and it has held up so well! I do recommend getting a dark color because it will get scratched and scuffed up, especially if you’re flying. (I learned this the hard way with my beautiful light blue suitcase!)
  • Shower bench
    • $54.99 (Amazon)
    • This shower bench has been so helpful for me. When traveling, especially in Europe, finding a truly accessible shower in a hotel has been one of the most stressful parts of travel. This portable shower bench can be easily folded and partially disassembled to fit into one side of my away carry-on!
    • Here’s a link to the reel where I show the disassembly process!

Travel Journal Essentials

  • Moleskine lined journal
    • $15.91 (Amazon) – on sale, 20% off!
    • I have two of these journals that I have to document my year living in Ireland. I took these journals around Europe with me and they have held up so well! I really like the pocket included in the back to hold postcards, photos, used boarding passes, and other paper trinkets I collect on my travels! I also need lines on my papers in order to write neatly, but Moleskine makes journals with dots, grids, and with completely blank pages. They come in so many colors!
  • Polaroid Hi-Print photo printer & paper
    • $119.99 (Amazon) – on sale, $10 off!
    • This photo printer connects to my phone via Bluetooth has single handedly improved my journaling experience by so much! These photos are high quality and have a back that can be peeled off to turn the photo into a sticker!
  • Pilot G2 pens (0.5 mm)
    • $6.77 (Amazon)
    • I’ve been using these pens since I borrowed one from a friend one time in college and immediately went to buy some of my own. They are my favorite pens I’ve ever used! I use them for everything, including my travel journal. The ink doesn’t smear or bleed through paper.
  • Double-sided tape
    • $5.63 (Amazon, 3 pack)
    • I love using double sided tape to add mementos into my travel journal!

Other things I’m loving

  • Anthropologie Christmas In The City Puzzles
    • $14 (Anthropologie) – on sale
    • I think these puzzles are so cute and festive! I love seeing how different cities decorate for Christmas and these puzzles are a great extension of that and a way to be in a festive spirit from your couch!
  • Pela travel charms case
    • $65 (Pela) – additional 15% off if you sign up for emails & texts
    • I don’t think I’ve ever bought something faster in my life than when I saw this phone case pop up on my Instagram feed. This collection is such a cute way to remember your travels or a place that means a lot to you! Plus, Pela values caring for the earth which I love! The phone cases are compostable and are shipped with minimal packaging that is recyclable. They have these styles for various phone brands and models!
  • Essie gel couture nail polish
    • $14.18 for polish and top coat (Amazon), $7.33 for just the nail polish if you already have the top coat
    • This nail polish is the best nail polish I’ve ever used- it stays on through long travel days, lots of hand washing, and using my hands to do everything! It comes in so many colors and I can’t get enough of it. For me, painting my nails has become a way to feel confident and put together no matter what else is going on in my life or what my body looks like or can or cannot do. I love that this nail polish is reliable and lasts me 10+ days with this combination! Even though it is marketed as gel, it doesn’t require any special lights, just apply the color and top coat!

As a travel enthusiast, wheelchair user, OT student and Pinterest lover, having a beautiful, accessible hotel room is a priority for me when I’m traveling. I’m happy to say that I truly loved my stay at the Oxford Hotel in Bend, OR!

Inclusive design is the best way to make a guest feel welcomed, especially for a wheelchair user like me. It’s the difference between feeling frustrated and relaxed at the end of a long day, and the small details make a big difference.
