Since moving to Dublin I have kept track of which pubs are accessible and which aren’t! I’ve broken them down into categories (pubs are organized alphabetically within categories), and if there is an accessible bathroom nearby I’ve listed it here. There are (according to the internet) 772 pubs in Dublin so this is by no means an exhaustive list! Will update as I go! Sláinte!!!

Accessible entrance & bathroom:
- Ciss Maddens: 46 Drury St, Dublin 2, D02 E128
- The bar has a lower portion that is easier to order from!
- The bathroom is accessible and larger than some accessible pub bathrooms I’ve been to.
- Really lovely to drink on the sidewalk outside when it’s nice out! Drury Street is a great location
- https://cissmaddens.ie
- Dudley’s: 48 Thomas St, The Liberties, Dublin, D08 Y44A
- There is a wheelchair bathroom on the ground floor, but I can’t reach the cord to flush the toilet which is hanging from the ceiling. It is not a large accessible bathroom.
- There are small areas upstairs and downstairs that aren’t accessible, but most of the seating is accessible.
- The doors to get in are kind of tricky, I am able to do it with help.
- Located in The Liberties, near Dublinia
- http://dudleys.ie/
- Flannery’s: 6 Camden Street Lower, Saint Kevin’s, Dublin 2, D02 TP83
- Part of the bar is upstairs, but some of it is also accessible without going upstairs. The other part of the bar is up about 4-5 stairs.
- Ask the bartender for the key to the accessible bathroom, it is up a ramp behind a set of doors.

- Ginger Man: 39-40 Fenian St, Dublin 2, D02 KD51
- There is a wheelchair bathroom on the ground floor. It is not very large, but I’m able to make it work in my manual wheelchair.
- Famous for their Christmas decorations in November and December! It gets very crowded in December, but it is a sight to see! There is no elevator up to the upstairs area.
- Located near Trinity College, Merrion Square Park, National Gallery of Ireland

- McCafferty’s at The Barge: 42 Charlemont St, Dublin 2, D02 593
- AKA “The Barge”
- The main entrance is not accessible, but there is an accessible entrance is the door to the left of the main entrance. Staff will need to open the door for you- I’ve been able to flag someone down or send someone in to get help.
- The accessible bathroom is immediately to the left once you enter through the accessible entrance.
- Some tables require stairs, but part of the pub as well as one of the bars is accessible without going up stairs
- Really nice place to go in the summer- people will fill the whole area outside by the canal!
- Has live music sometimes!

- McGrattan’s: 76 Fitzwilliam Lane, Dublin 2
- The wheelchair bathroom is located at the front of the pub, on your right. Some seating is high tables, but there are also regular-height tables throughout. (Picture of bathroom at the bottom of this post)
- Located near St. Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street, tucked away in an alley off Baggot Street

- Ryan’s Bar (Camden St): 92 Camden Street Lower, Dublin 2, D02 KT51
- The main entrance has a step, but there is a step-free entrance on the side of the building!

- Searson’s: 42-44 Baggot Street Upper, Dublin 4, D04 V210
- Lots of seating, love both the outside and inside of the pub!
- Wheelchair bathroom is larger than some other pubs! (Picture of the bathroom at the bottom of this post)

- Toners: 139 Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2
- The back patio/beer garden (Toners Yard) is accessible and where I have spent time here. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom, which is kept locked. The employees there are very nice and have always been helpful and fast when getting the bathroom key for me. I haven’t sat inside Toners, so I don’t know what the accessibility is like there. I enter through the side entrance where the patio is!

Accessible entrance, not sure about bathroom
- Doheny & Nesbitt: 5 Baggot St Lower, Dublin 2, D02 F866
- Great ambience
- When I was there, there was live music!
- Mix of high and low tables
- Level entry through the entrance
- Near The Shelbourne, which has an accessible bathroom

Accessible entrance, no accessible bathroom
- Kennedy’s: 30-32 Westland Row, Dublin 2, D02 DP70
- Unfortunately the bathroom here is down a flight of stairs. I did use it one time but it was a 4 person operation (could be a 2 or 3 person operation, depending on your situation). I needed someone to carry me down, someone to carry my chair, someone to stand outside the women’s bathroom to keep people from coming in, and someone inside the women’s bathroom with me. My chair could not fit in the stall, so I had to transfer to the toilet, then my friend moved my chair out of the stall so I could have privacy. I had to get dressed and undressed on the toilet, then have my friend bring my chair back so I could reach it to transfer back. AND I was wearing jeans and a bodysuit. It was definitely the most expert-level wheelchair experience I’ve ever had. I’m very thankful to have people who were very happy to help me.
- Located near Trinity College, Merrion Square Park, National Gallery of Ireland
- Closest accessible bathrooms: Ginger Man Pub (across the street), Merrion Hotel (7 min walk), National Gallery of Ireland (3 min walk, open until 5:30pm except Thursday, when it closes at 8:30pm)
- O’Connor’s: 32 Mount St, Dublin 2
- There are 5 steps to get down to the bathroom
- Live music on Fridays and Saturdays
- I did not think their pub quiz (Thursday nights) was very good, which is why my friends and I went. I haven’t tried their food!
- O’Donoghues: 15 Merrion Row, Dublin
- The tables are low, which is great for a shorter wheelchair user like me! Has live music nightly! Very popular with locals (as far as I know!) and tourists! (Including Rihanna in 2011, according to Twitter!!)
- Close accessible bathrooms: The Shelbourne Hotel and The Merrion Hotel are both nice hotels located nearby. I have gone to use their bathrooms without staying as a guest, on multiple occasions. I need help to access the hotel, but the doormen have always been very accommodating to me! It is also only a 2 minute walk to Toners, which has an accessible bathroom (see full details above).

- O’Neill’s Victorian Pub: 36-37 Pearse St, Dublin 2, D02 VX62
- Lots of tables, larger than other pubs I’ve been to! I loved the decor and the atmosphere here!!
- The bathroom might be able to be barricaded (have someone wait outside and block others from coming in while you’re in there), there’s only 3 stalls in the women’s bathroom! The toilets are in small individual rooms, so the transfer to the toilet might also be tricky/too tight depending on the size of your chair. Not ideal. I’m not sure where the closest accessible bathroom would be for this pub. The staff might know.
- Located near Trinity College, in between the campus and the River Liffey

- Porterhouse Temple Bar: 16-18 Parliament St, Dublin 2, D02 VR94
- Most of this pub requires stairs, but there is an area (including the bar) that is accessible without using stairs
- Serves the classic drinks as well as their own brews
- Live music 7 nights a week
- This is the only place I have been carded in Ireland! This might be more common in Temple Bar, which is a more touristy area (that I don’t frequent often).
- Located in the Temple Bar District
- https://porterhousebrewco.ie/temple-bar/
- https://www.tripadvisor.ie/Restaurant_Review-g186605-d696339-Reviews-The_Porterhouse_Temple_Bar-Dublin_County_Dublin.html
- The Long Hall: 51 South Great George’s Street, Dublin 2, D02 DV74
- The Long Hall has been in business for over 250 years!! The decorations are so charming, and the interior has not been changed since 1881!
- I don’t know of any particularly close accessible bathrooms. When I am in this situation, I look for nearby hotels. The Grafton Hotel is an 8 minute walk away- I have stayed there and their facilities are modern, so this may be an option.
- Located in South City Centre

Semi-accessible entrance, accessible bathroom
- Darkey Kelly’s: 19 Fishamble St, Dublin 8, D08 PD8W
- The entrance itself is accessible, but it is located on a sloped curve, so it is not the easiest to get to. However, I am able to push myself up but it is a workout. On the way down the hill, I do have someone help me just in case I were to lose control.
- Mix between high and low tables. Some of the high top tables have stools with backs on them, which is helpful for me.
- There is a small part of the pub up a stair, but there is a ramp around the back of the bar that can take you up here.
- Great food and great live music every night!

- Ryan’s Bar (Store St): 19 Store St, Dublin 1, D01 NY02
- Need a boost to get inside, but it is accessible once I get in!
- Located near Connolly Station
- https://www.tripadvisor.ie/Restaurant_Review-g186605-d2068885-Reviews-Ryan_s_Bar_Cafe-Dublin_County_Dublin.html
Semi-accessible entrance, no accessible bathroom
- Foley’s: 1 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, D02 HY07
- The entrance is accessible, but the only seating options are high-tops, so you’ll need to be able to transfer up or have someone help you. This place is small and there are not a lot of tables.
- Sometimes they have live music!
- More of a bar than a pub, they have food as well!
- No accessible bathrooms, but not far from The Shelbourne.
- Located near St. Stephen’s Green
- https://www.foleys.ie
- The Hairy Lemon: 41- 42 Stephen Street Lower, Dublin 2
- I would definitely recommend this place! I take all of my visitors here, the food is excellent! I really enjoy the beef and guinness stew. They also have an excellent blood orange cider that I have not found many other places!
- I enter through the brown wooden door on Stephen Street. This door is not for general public use, so I go up to the corner where the main entrance is and ask the employee there to open the door for me. There is a small step to get in, but I am able to do it if someone can give me a boost from the back. I’m not sure if someone in a power chair would be able to get in.
- The bathroom here is not accessible, but The Grafton Hotel is across the street and has a large accessible bathroom on -1. You do not need a hotel key to use the elevator.
- Located near St. Stephen’s Green

Wouldn’t recommend if you’re in a wheelchair
- Moss Lane: 37B Pearse St, Dublin 2, D02 N966
- There is about a 3 inch step to get inside. Once you get inside, there is only one small area that has regular-height seated, the rest is taller. Half of the taller seats are in a booth, so that might work better if you want to go there and need a back on your seat like I do. There are also stools available for the tall seats.
- I don’t know about the accessibility of the bathrooms, since my friends & I pretty quickly decided to move on to a more accessible spot.
- I’m sure it’s a nice spot but with so many other options, I don’t think the accessibility hassles are worth it. (O’Neill’s is right next door!)
